Hey everyone and welcome to my development blog for my video game project Pandora Paradox…. if you read the above and are still reading and not running away, thank you very much 😀
So this is the place I’ll be putting down random ideas, little game snippets and just keeping track of things as it grows and the like. It might also end up where I ramble on and on about inane nothings, or talk about my thoughts on things only tangentially related to the main goal. I’m not the best at keeping myself on track sometimes XD
What is Pandora Paradox?
Welcome to a world of oil and neon light, of whirling gears and burnished steel. A world of sprawling mechanical cities amidst twisting forest, once grand ruins laid low by hubris and now the home of monsters. Welcome to a world inhabited by man and beast, of struggle and strife, or resolution and revolution, of darkness and hope.
Pandora Paradox is a Hybrid Visual Novel and 2D platform Fighting game, heavily inspired by the likes of Smash Bros and Blazblue/Guilty Gear. Set in a charmingly dystopian Dieselpunk alternate world, it will features a selection of hopefully-interesting characters from the many factions that make up the political landscape of of the Empire of Lupercalcia, each with their own unique quirks and foibles and all set amid a world of stark tones and neon hues
About the Author
I’m Michael Joyce, also known in some places as BeigePaladin or variants. I’m a 24 year old English Muppet with a games design qualification, coding knowledge I’m a bit too overconfident with and some experience in the industry that’s looking to break into the business full time.
When I’m not doing the vidya games stuff I’m also an amateur pin-up artist, a trained chef and a big fan of all things silly, cheesy and over the top, in both visual and written forms. I’m also an avid fan of video games, which is what motivated me to learn how to maybe hopefully sorta make them. My favourite Genres are JRPGs and Fighting Games, but I like most kinds of genres even if I suck at most of them XD
